Core Privacy Commitments

  • Zero account registration, credit card, or email address required to convert documents.
  • All files uploaded to conversion tools are automatically purged within a maximum 30-minute TTL.
  • Client-side utilities (PDF Viewer, Annotator/Editor, Text-to-PDF) execute 100% on your device via WebAssembly.
  • We never inspect, catalog, archive, or train AI models on user-submitted files or financial documents.

1. Hybrid Architecture & File Processing

ConverCell operates under a transparent hybrid architecture designed to maximize user privacy depending on the tool you use:

  • Client-Side Local Utilities (PDF Viewer, PDF Annotator/Editor, Text-to-PDF): Run entirely inside your web browser using WebAssembly (PDFium WASM) and HTML5 Web Workers. When using these utilities, your documents never leave your computer or smartphone. Zero bytes are uploaded to external servers.
  • Document Conversion Tools (PDF to Excel, PDF to CSV, Bank Statement, Invoice, OCR, Scanned PDF): Transmit files over encrypted TLS 1.3 connections to our stateless Python FastAPI conversion backend. Vector text coordinates are extracted via pdfplumber for digital PDFs, and character recognition is performed via Tesseract OCR and OpenCV for scanned documents.

2. Ephemeral Storage & Strict 30-Minute Auto-Purge TTL

We enforce an automated, ephemeral data retention schedule across our conversion cluster:

  • 30-Minute Maximum TTL: Uploaded input files and generated output spreadsheets (.xlsx, .csv) are retained temporarily in isolated directories solely to permit you to download your results.
  • Automated Cleanup Workers: Scheduled background processes run continuously on our servers, permanently and irreversibly deleting all files older than 30 minutes from disk.
  • Zero Archiving & Zero AI Training: ConverCell never creates backups, archives, or permanent caches of your documents. Under no circumstances do we train machine learning models, large language models (LLMs), or optical recognition systems on user-submitted files.

3. Special Safeguards for Bank Statements & Financial Records

Users frequently utilize ConverCell to extract transaction ledgers from bank statements, credit card bills, itemized invoices, and tax summaries. We treat financial records with strict confidentiality:

  • No Account Number or PII Logging: Our extraction algorithms isolate table coordinates to reconstruct rows and columns in Excel. We do not extract, catalog, index, or store bank account numbers, routing numbers, customer names, or transaction balances into any persistent database.
  • No Financial Data Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or transmit financial records or user document contents to banking institutions, credit bureaus, analytics providers, data brokers, or marketing firms.
  • Ephemeral Memory Execution: Financial documents are processed strictly in isolated temporary containers and purged permanently within the standard 30-minute TTL window.

4. Google AdSense, Third-Party Advertising & Cookies

To keep our core conversion tools free and accessible without mandatory paywalls, ConverCell displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and third-party advertising partners. In accordance with Google publisher policies, we provide the following disclosures regarding advertising scripts and cookies:

  • Third-Party Vendor Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to ConverCell or other websites across the Internet.
  • DoubleClick & Advertising Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to ConverCell and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Opting Out of Personalized Advertising: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. Alternatively, users can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting https://www.aboutads.info/choices/.
  • Browser Cookie Controls: You can configure your web browser to reject all cookies, notify you when a cookie is placed, or delete existing cookies. Disabling cookies will not hinder your ability to convert or view documents on ConverCell.

5. Server Connection Logs & Diagnostics

Because ConverCell does not require user accounts, passwords, or credit card collection, we collect minimal operational information:

  • Technical Server Logs: Standard connection metadata (IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, and HTTP referrers) is logged temporarily for rate limiting, DDoS mitigation, and server health monitoring.
  • Aggregated Anonymous Metrics: Anonymized operational metrics (conversion success rates, error counts, file size buckets) are evaluated to optimize server capacity.
